Installing airyxOS

A very quick guide to installing airyxOS

This will result in a full airyxOS system including the default apps.

1. Make sure your system meets the minimum System requirements and that you have the latest airyxOS release. Unless you are a developer, avoid the ones marked "alpha" or "developer preview" as they are often unstable.
2. If the download is a zip file, unzip it first. Write the iso file to a USB stick with your favorite utility. Plug the now bootable USB into a USB port on your computer. To boot from your usb you will see text when you startup your computer on the bottom which usually says something along the lines of: "to get boot menu press: (either usually f2 or f12. It depends on your computer)". Press that key to get to the boot menu for your USB. Then choose your USB. or boot it in a VM. (Need a USB tool? Try Rufus (Windows) or baleena Etcher (Mac).)
3. Click on the desktop wallpaper to make sure the menu is visible, then choose "Go" -> "Utilities"
4. Double click on the Install airyxOS icon to launch the installer.
5. Accept the airyxOS license agreement by clicking Next
6. The installer will detect compatible disks. Choose where you want to install airyxOS and click Next
7. Enter your name and a password for your new user account, and choose the system time zone. Click Next.
8. Confirm that everything is entered correctly. Click Back if you need to make changes, or Cancel if you want to quit without making any changes. Clicking Next will start the install process and erase everything on the selected disk.
9. The installer will clear the selected disk and create an airyxOS installation with an EFI partition and boot loader, and a ZFS pool called airyxOS. This process can take several minutes depending on the speed of your USB or CD device. Please be patient and don't interrupt the installer.
10. When the install has finished, you will see a log file which you can review for any errors. This is mainly for developers and will be removed or made optional later. Click Quit when finished. You can now shut down, remove the USB or CD that you booted, and try your new system!
